Registan.net + Cute Cats

Ethan Zuckerman recently posted about his Cute Cat Theory of Digital Activism talk at ETech. Basically, he makes the point that Web 2.0 tools designed to share cute pictures of cats are powerful tools for digital activists. They certainly do, and I’ll leave it to him to more convincingly, eloquently, and entertainingly make that case. And I’ll also make a brief foray into topicality by saying that I expect that we will see these tools being used more and more for Central Asian activism.

Instead, this post is mostly navel-gazing and amusement as Ethan today posts about LOLFeeds, a page that allows one to input any RSS feed and receive back, well… something like this:

I can assure you, gentle reader, that Josh is, in fact, not particularly fond of sunbathing kittens. He is, I am fairly certain, quite a bit less fond of certain posts from Long War Journal.

In addition to other Registan.net headlines paired with cat pictures, I found Ferghana.ru headlines to be enhanced by the addition of cats. Go ahead and try your own.
