I’ll try and track down a copy of the video… but I really, really don’t want to see it again. I shouldn’t have to, of course. Everyone knows what I’ll mean, and they’ll just burn a VCD for me. I’m actually planning on being in the states come June, so I’ll just save it till then and use a more reliable postal service to get it to you. Let me find the VCD first, though. The local mullahs are really cool guys who clamp down on stupid shit like that, so there might not be any copies of it left around.

Ok. I think I’ll seriously put some time in this weekend and do a little write up on the propaganda series – maybe you’d be interested in me posting it here, Nate? I could put it up on my own site, but that’s just personal for the folks at home, and they’d probably flip if I did a post just on creepy shit like that.

That specific video specialized in birth defects, [rat people, double-heads, serious mutilations at birth, etc.] pointing out that the victims were not pious Muslims, and were being punished by God. Others I’ve seen – victims of car accidents/drunk driving, beheadings/maimings of non-pious Muslims by more-pious Muslims, and the least offensive: low, low, low budget animated history of the World, telling Koran stories. Looks like it was drawn at 8 frames/second and recorded onto a fruit roll-up. But harmless – nothing subversive about Noah’s ark, right?

C’mon Brian, isn’t it obvious? The dude has two heads and one only says “Allah.” Therefore, death to America! Restore the Caliphate!

Actually, it sounds like it’s just part of a larger package of propaganda videos. But, it’s probably also aiming more at the religious side of the coin as opposed to the political. I get the feeling it’s something like “We’re pious Muslims; ‘real’ Muslims. We’re showing you these miracles that prove God’s glory. Therefore, amend your ways and practice as we do.” Kind of like telling people the water stain on your basement wall is obviously an image of Jesus, so stop your wicked ways.
